​How much easier would my life be
If you and I 
Were not two sides
To the same damn coin
And yet
I'm also sure
That it would be
So much less
Interesting
If I'd come to this planet alone
I meant to explore it with you
Two pairs of eyes
Two wandering minds
Two souls 
So deeply intertwined
Wouldn't it be nice
If I could settle for comfortable and easy
But no
My soul 
Needs these fucking highs and lows
I find in the love of you
My spirit the depth and intensity
The way my body
Needs breath.
Oh but how much easier 
It would be
If I could settle for the comforting arms
Of someone
I need less.
